A pioneer of Kyo-Yuzen was Yuzensai Miyazaki, a designer of folding fan. He started to make a colorful design by hand painted technique in Edo peried.
Special dyestuff has been invented by professor, Yasunaga, Kyoto Textile Technogy College, Hiriaki Taniguchi, Yuzen Artist painted pattern of Yuzen on the Kitayama Cedar.
